Valentine’s Day Strawberry Milk Gift | Free Printable

Free Valentines Day Gift Tags Printablethis month i participated in a dollar bin challenge with a group of bloggers. we found these glass test tubes at Michael’s Craft Store for $1.50 each in the dollar bins. each of us could do whatever craft we wanted with them, so i decided to make a Valetine’s Day gift with a free printable. i call my project, Valentine Strawberry & Hearts Milk Gift.

so you start off with a glass (or plastic) test tube that you can find at the craft store. make sure it has a lid that closes pretty good.valentines day test tube craftfor this Valentine Strawberry & Hearts Milk Gift, you need the test tubes, string or ribbon, strawberry milk powder, sprinkles, and the free printable tags and wraps printed on card stock and cut out.easy valentines day crafti used white card stock to print my tags and wraps out on, and then used a 1-1/12″ circle punch to cut the circle tags out, and a paper cutter to cut the wraps out. i also used a small hole punch to punch a hole at the top of the tags.

now, all you do is fill each test tube with the strawberry milk powder leaving about an inch of space at the top, then fill the rest of the test tube up with sprinkles. make sure to leave enough room for the cork or lid to seal the test tube, but make sure not to leave any extra space at the top or the sprinkles and strawberry milk powder will start to combine.

finally, tie the tag to the test tube, and stick the “just add milk” wrap around the test tube with double sided tape.Valentine Free Printablesthe final product are cute little Valentine Strawberry & Hearts Milk Gifts that you can give to friends for Valentine’s Day…or for any occasion for that matter.popsicle blog test tube strawberry milknow your friend can enjoy some festive pink milk with floating hearts or sprinkles to celebrate Valentine’s Day. i am so thrilled with how these turned out! pssst….i have included the free printable for you to download, enjoy!

Valentine’s Day Craft | Centerpiece Tutorial

Valentine's Day Centerpiece | Easy Kids Craft

this year i was determined to decorate for Valentine’s Day. it seems for me, this holiday comes and goes much too quickly and i don’t give it any thought. i get the kiddies Valentine’s out and that’s about it. but i really LOVE Valentine’s Day, especially the decor….it’s PINK! and i don’t get to decorate with a lot of pink around here. i guess the boys don’t love it as much as i do.

the number one place i wanted to decorate up for this Valentine’s Day was my mantle. i didn’t want to purchase a lot of items, so i came up with a fun craft for the kids to make. it would be the centerpiece focal point for my Valentine’s Day mantle. i thought it would be fun to gather up some sticks from the park and wrap them with Valentine’s Day colors of yarn, thus making a cute Yarn Wrapped Stick arrangement. such an easy Valentine’s Day craft.

i have to say it came out much cuter than i imagined, and the kids really, really enjoyed gathering the right sticks, and wrapping them with yarn. some of my kids did the wrapping more carefully than others, but it really didn’t matter because all the sticks still looked pretty cool.

this project is really easy. all you need is some sticks and yarn/string. it is best for the sticks to be at least as thick as your finger, and the length really doesn’t matter. i would measure the container you want to put them in and cut the sticks according to how you want them to look.  i have included the instructions on how to wrap them at the bottom of this post. we also added some hanging hearts to our stick just to make it more fun for Valentine’s Day.

i designed the rest of the mantle around our stick centerpiece. i found this great red frame at Hobby Lobby for 75% off due to a small scratch, and i strung photographs from my Instagram account inside of it. i also hung up the Conversation Heart Banner i shared with you across the mantle. i just love those colorful hearts.

i found these cute mailboxes in the dollar spot at Target and painted each of my boys initials on them just for fun.

and then i found three books and three different sizes and made booked jackets for them with Valentine wrapping paper. it was an easy way to add height to my centerpiece and also add a bit of color to the mantle.

a plant, which i added a heart to its container, and jars which i filled with real conversation hearts and spray painted the lids added the finishing touch to my mantle. i love how the large jar fits perfectly atop a white candlestick holder i already owned.

and that is my Valentine’s Day mantle! i am so excited that i was able to pull it off this year. i feel happy every time i see it.
• sticks
• yarn
• scissors
• start by tying the yarn to the end of the stick.
• begin wrapping the yarn around the stick until you are happy with the wrapped section. 1 to 2″ of wrapping should be good. but really, its all how you like it.
• tie off the existing piece of yarn and cut off the extra.
• repeat with the next color.

(i have found for small kids, tying together pieces of different yarn colors in 6-12″ pieces is the easiest way to do this project. that way you do not have to keep stopping and tying off each color.)

the most important thing with this project is to have fun and be creative. the string doesn’t have to be wrapped perfectly, the colors can be whatever you like and the sticks can be all different sizes. you don’t even have to place them in a jar or container. they could look cool laying across the mantle or tied together making a wall hanging. the options are endless, and they could be made for everyday or any holiday.

DIY Valentine Heart Crayons

DIY Valentine's Day Heart Crayons

part of my goal this year is being focused in my life, and with that, i am focusing on de-cluttering everything. while i was cleaning out my kids toys, i found this giant box of broken crayons. i was going to thrown them into the trash, but then i thought it would be fun to make a few homemade crayon shapes.  we really loved how our Earth Day crayons turned out, so how about some Valentine’s Day crayons.

i have some ice trays that make heart shaped ice cubes, and thought perfect. so i unwrapped all the broken crayons and placed them into my ice cube tray by color. you could mix the colors if you want swirl crayons. (tip: a serrated knife works great to remove crayon wrappers. just slice along the crayon and it pops off.)

once all the chambers are full, you can place it in the oven on a baking sheet at 180 degrees for as long as it takes the crayons to melt into the shapes. if you are using a silicone mold, you can have the oven a little hotter, but the ice cube tray are plastic and will melt at hotter temps. (i may have found this out for myself.)

once the crayon pieces are melted, take the tray out of the oven and let completely cool. then pop the crayons out of the mold, put them in a jar or baggie and give them to your sweetheart or friend for a Valentine’s Day gift.

you can find heart shaped ice cube trays at the dollar store, IKEA or places like Target and Walmart in the dollar bins. silicone baking trays can be found at your local craft stores in the baking section.

I’m going to decorate for Valentine’s Day this year. I always forget until it is to late to bother. but i really love Valentine’s Day, especially because it gives me an excuse to bring some pink into the house. With all these boys, that rarely happens. So I decided to create a Valentine’s Day printable around my favorite Valentine’s Day candy….conversation hearts!

Conversation Hearts Printables

This banner is super simple to create.  All you need is some ribbon, colored card stock and a printer, I’ve created the free printable for you to use. And if you don’t have room for a banner, you can just print out the hearts and put them up on the wall.

Valentine's Day Banner Craft Tutorial

It turned out super cute…much better than I thought it would. I especially think the bows made it look so adorable.

• Hole punch
• Scissors

Conversation Hearts banner

• print out conversation heart messages onto colored card stock. i used colors true to real conversation heart candies.
• cut out the hearts
• punch a hole on each side of the heart where you will run your string through.  if you wish to hang them differently, punch your holes accordingly.
• use ribbon or string to tie the hearts together. i thought bows were cute, so i tied a bow between each heart.  also tie a piece of longer ribbon to each side of the banner so that you can hang it up. your banner is now finished!
