Let It Snow at the Four Seasons Westlake Village

Snowing at the Four Seasonslast weekend was full of Christmas magic and falling snowflakes….and we didn’t even have to leave Southern California to experience it. the boys and i were invited to the Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village’s “Let It Snow” celebration and what a fun family evening we had together. the “Let It Snow” celebration is on it’s fourth year at the hotel and is a favorite of families all over the Southern California.

right outside the Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village doors, you will find an evening full of Christmas activities – from ice skating, to hot chocolate, s’mores, train rides, Santa Claus, cookie decorating and snow falling. there is also fresh made pizza, pretzels and drinks available to purchase for dinner, or you can head down to the Four Seasons Mercado Italiano for dinner after you have enjoyed the “Let It Snow” activities.

the boys and i had a wonderful night of Christmas fun and enjoyed cuddling up to the warm fire and dancing in the falling snow. festive music filled the air and the boys told their wishes to Santa Claus. here are some photos of our evening.

one of our favorite parks is Box Canyon Park in Yorba Linda. it has an awesome playground include one that looks like a giant pirate ship. pack up a picnic and enjoy the last days of summer at this fun park. there are great sidewalks for bike riding and also a shade area with picnic tables if you need some time out from this hot weather.

Pirates Dinner Adventure
have dinner at Pirates Dinner Adventure! you will set aboard an authentically replicated 18th-century Spanish galleon anchored in a 300,000-gallon indoor lagoon with night sky lighting. surrounding the lagoon is a six-sided showroom of six additional ships where the audience is seated to begin the show.

voyagers on each of the six ships have their own pirate mascot whom they will cheer on as the adventure unfolds with a cast a dozen actors, singers and stunt performers engaging in a bounty of action-packed exploits, accompanied by cannon blasts, pyrotechnics and plenty of laughs. in addition, more than 150 guests will have the chance to play an actual role in each dinner show as the evil Captain Sebastian the Black leads his crews of renegades on a swashbuckling adventure before your very eyes!

KaBoom! Free Family Event Powered by Disney Parks

kaboom-anaheimyesterday, i only had my two youngest boys since my oldest and hubby were hiking with a Boy Scout Troup. so what did we do? we headed over to the Downtown Anaheim Promenade to participate in KaBOOM!

what is KaBOOM!?

it’s a national non-profit dedicated to saving play for America’s children. their mission is to create great playspaces through the participation and leadership of communities. their ultimate goal is to create a place to play within walking distance of every child in America. and this weekend they are hosting a FREE FAMILY BONDING EVENT at the Downtown Anaheim Promenade.

i wasn’t sure what to expect, but since it was powered by Dinsey Parks, it had to be fun…right?! when we arrived, we checked in and where given a lanyard, a blank flag and water bottles for all of us. for FREE!

kaboom-gree-water-bottlesthe first stop was creating a family flag that you take with your team to each of the family bonding zones.family-bonding-kaboomwe all had a nice time together creating our flag. there were stickers and paint pens to help in our creativity. and i had a nice moment to site a reflect on my boys creativity, and really enjoyed their thought process to creating our flag.

our first activity was building, and we all had to build a tunnel that our whole family could fit through, go through the tunnel and then have fun knocking it down.
