Family Traditions at the Irvine Park Railroad Pumpkin Patch

Irvine Park Railroad Pumpkin Patchahhh! it’s October….one of my favorite months of the year. every since i had my first son, i have looked forward to this month. i absolutely love fall events and pumpkin patches.  last weekend the boys and i visited one of my favorites and in my opinion, the best pumpkin patches in Orange County…the Irvine Park Railroad Pumpkin Patch. it has been a tradition of our family to visit it every year. such a nice and relaxing family outing, and we always have a great time.

of course i made the boys pose for many photos. the older boys were good sports and made sure little Vann got to have the same experiences at this pumpkin patch that they had when they were little. next year they will have a little sister to introduce to the pumpkin patch. so exciting!

fun_orange_county_halloween_signsi just love the fun photo props you can take photos with throughout the patch.Irvine Park Railroad Pumpkin Patch Cute Photo BackdropsIrvine Park Railroad Pumpkin Patch TrainIrvine Park Railroad Pumpkin Patch Fun Photosone thing that i love about the Irvine Park Railroad Pumpkin Patch is that we know what to expect and we get a wonderful quality day at the patch. the pumpkins are really amazing this year with a great choice in sizes, and also great big stems. and you must ride the train during this time of year. it drives through the pumpkin patch which puts me in the mood for fall….and  even though it’s been very hot here in the OC, it still did the trick this year.

we also like to do some of the activities at the pumpkin patch. there are bounce houses, cookie decorating, hay rides, train rides, games, panning for gold, tractor rides and more. we always go the Irvine Park Pumpkin Patch multiple time a year, so we like to do few different activities each time we come. this time the boys played some games…

then Vann really wanted to drive the John Deere tractors. i remember how excited my older boys were to drive them when they were Vann’s age.

plus, we always have to run through the hay maze. the maze, the haunted house, and the photo props are all FREE to enjoy in the patch.

the the whole family joined in on taking a hayride though the park. this is great for all ages. from the littlest kids to the grandparents.

irvine-park-pumkin-patch-hay-maze

it’s no secret that we love the Irvine Park Railroad Pumpkin Patch. i post about it every year…and while trying to put together this post, i found that we had been to this favorite Orange County Pumpkin Patch over 10 times just last year. i had over 330 photos to choose from…thus all the different outfits we are wearing the pictures below. ahh, the memories…it’s so much fun to visit pumpkin patches in the fall.

well, we are happy to announce that the Irvine Park Railroad Pumpkin Patch is NOW OPEN!  (make sure you scroll all the way to the bottom of this post for the chance to win tickets.)

irvine-park-pumpkin-patch-train

what i love about the Irvine Park Railroad Pumpkin Patch is that no matter how many time you go during the season, no two times are the same. there is so many different activities to do, that each time you go, you can do something different. but, we ALWAYS ride the train. it has always been a favorite of my boys…especially when they were  the ages 1-5 years old.

socal-train-ride-halloweenannual-irvine-park-train

and we ALWAYS  get measured on the  giant pumpkin patch ruler. it is so fun to see how the kids have grown each year.

annual-irvine-park-pumkin-patch

you can visit the (semi-spooky) Haunted House….

orange-county-haunted-house

or take a hayride around the park. this is one of my favorite things to do.

orange-county-hay-ride

the boys like to decorate Halloween cookies at the cookie booth. they like lots of frosting and lots of sprinkles.

irvine-park-pumkin-patch-cookies

you can guess the weight of a giant pumpkin. we have guessed every year…but haven’t been right yet.

there are also other things to do at the Pumpkin Patch such at the bouncey house, mini John Deere Tractor rides and pony rides, but i just couldn’t show everything LOL. and we usually run amongst the pumpkins. there are many different varieties around the patch.

we picked out this pumpkin last year.
