ahhh! it's October....one of my favorite months of the year. every since i had my first son, i have looked forward to this month. i absolutely love fall events and pumpkin patches. last weekend the boys and i visited one of my favorites and in my opinion, the best pumpkin patches in Orange County...the Irvine Park Railroad Pumpkin Patch. it has been a tradition of our family to visit it every year. such a nice and relaxing family outing, and we always have a great time.
of course i made the boys pose for many photos. the older boys were good sports and made sure little Vann got to have the same experiences at this pumpkin patch that they had when they were little. next year they will have a little sister to introduce to the pumpkin patch. so exciting!
i just love the fun photo props you can take photos with throughout the patch.one thing that i love about the Irvine Park Railroad Pumpkin Patch is that we know what to expect and we get a wonderful quality day at the patch. the pumpkins are really amazing this year with a great choice in sizes, and also great big stems. and you must ride the train during this time of year. it drives through the pumpkin patch which puts me in the mood for fall….and even though it’s been very hot here in the OC, it still did the trick this year.
we also like to do some of the activities at the pumpkin patch. there are bounce houses, cookie decorating, hay rides, train rides, games, panning for gold, tractor rides and more. we always go the Irvine Park Pumpkin Patch multiple time a year, so we like to do few different activities each time we come. this time the boys played some games...
this little guy was thrilled to have his brother win him a pumpkin and a stuffed toy!
then Vann really wanted to drive the John Deere tractors. i remember how excited my older boys were to drive them when they were Vann's age.
plus, we always have to run through the hay maze. the maze, the haunted house, and the photo props are all FREE to enjoy in the patch.
the the whole family joined in on taking a hayride though the park. this is great for all ages. from the littlest kids to the grandparents.
this year, the Irvine Park Pumpkin Patch had a contest for the biggest pumpkin. the winners are on display and you can check them out. these giant pumpkins were pretty amazing, and the winner received $2,500.finally, we had to make sure we visited the pumpkin measuring sticks to take the boys annual photos. i have been taking their photos here since they were babies and it's fun to look back at photos from years past to see how much they have grown and changed each year.
it ended up being the perfect visit to the Irvine Park Railroad Pumpkin Patch, and we were very happy that we were able to share the experience with our loved grandpa and grandmas. if you are able to get down to the pumpkin patch this year, i highly recommend Irvine Park Railroad Pumpkin Patch. it's been there throughout the years making memories for many families like mine, and i look forward to more memories in the future.
