PEANUTS Comic Strip Photo Ops
As soon as you walk in the park, you will notice some really fun photos opportunities. You can literally jump into one of Charles Schultz PEANUTS comicstrips and take your photo. Choose from 4 different scenes, and also get a photo in front of the iconic windmill that has a comic overlay. During certain times of the day, Snoopy will be available for photos there too. Find the times on the Knott's app!
Next, head to your left into Ghost Town. Keep walking until you reach the Livery Stable.
Meet Pig Pen and His Piglets
Once you get to the Livery Stable, head inside! This is where you can meet Pig Pen and his piglets. You won't want to miss this...the piglets are seriously so cute.
Pig Pen from the PEANUTS Gang will also be making an appearances throughout the day, and you can get your picture with him and also do a meet and greet. Again, make sure to check out the times on the Knott's app.
YES...we loved meeting Pig Pen! And not only did we get to meet Pig Pen and his piglets, there were also a couple of horses and a donkey!
Awww. Look at these piggies. They are just a few weeks old and super tiny. If you come to Knott's PEANUTS Celebration multiple times and come closer to the ending date, you will see them grow right before your eyes. Its amazing how much these little pigs will grow throughout the event month.
Next up, exit the Livery Stable and head over to Bird Cage Theater!
Learn How to Draw the PEANUTS Gang at "Sketch School"
PEANUTS Sketch School has to be one of our family's favorite activities at the Knott's PEANUTS Celebration. Here you get to learn how to sketch! Don't forget to check the Knott's app for the times!
During Sketch School, everyone is given a sketch pad and a pencil. and are taught by the Knott's residence art teacher how to draw one of the members of the PEANUTS Gang. It could be Snoopy, Woodstock, Pig Pen, Charlie Brown, Lucy, Sally or even Linus!
During each session, a different character was taught. So you can come back multiple times each day and learn how to draw someone new. My kids could have stayed there all day.
Sketch School is great for all ages...from adults to children. Even baby Dani joined in! If you have a baby or toddler, you can ask for a coloring sheet instead.
Charlie Brown's Trivia Challenge
Also located inside the Bird Cage Theatre is Charlie Brown’s Trivia Challenge! This is really fun for anyone wanting to learn more fun facts about the PEANUTS Gang. Guests can test their knowledge with PEANUTS questions and fun visual games and "I Spy" challenges.
After your drawing lesson or trivia session, head out of the theater and head left to Town Hall.
Meet Franklin and Learn History at Calico Town Hall
At Calico's Town Hall, there is a new, limited-time Franklin exhibit. Everything in the exhibit is dedicated to Charles Schulz's iconic character, Franklin. It has a lot of history on how he joined the PEANUTS Gang in 1968. It's a great way to discover his importance to history and pop culture.
Franklin is also at the Franklin Exhibit, so be sure to get a photo with him! Isn't he adorable?!!!
And that's not all! There is also a light table where you can trace your own Charles Schulz illustrations into your own comic strips! My kids absolutely loved this part.
Another fun interactive activity for kids at Knott's PEANUTS Celebration is the Cowboy Jamboree.
Kids Can Play Games at the Knott's Cowboy Jamboree
Everyday during Knott's PEANUTS Celebration in Calico Park, you can enjoy the Cowboy Jamboree. It happens multiple times a day...and each show is a little different. Kids just LOVE this activity, so I highly recommend.
Cowboy Jamboree begins with a fun song sung by Sidesaddle McGee! You can join them for the song and dance as the show begins! They just love it when the kids join in. Then everyone is welcome to join in a play a Cowboy Jamboree game. There is a different one played at every show during the day – such as horseshoes, lassoing, pie tossing, and bowling! So make sure to come and try them all!
After the games are done, some of the PEANUTS Gang will be available for a photo. So stick around after the show! This year I heard that it will be Schroeder and Linus!
Next up is "Peanuts On The Go!"
"Peanuts On The Go" Show at Knott's Peanuts Celebration
One of my kids favorites activities at Knott's PEANUTS Celebration is the "Peanuts On The Go" show.
We love the "Peanuts On The Go" show because we get to dance with some of our favorite PEANUTS Gang pals. When the show begins, Charlie Brown, Lucy and Sally ride into Charleston Circle on vintage cars. Dressed in their "Boardwalk Best," they jump out of their cars a start dancing with the guests to fun music. Guest will get to learn dance moves and also take photos with them at the end of the songs.
Playing with the PEANUTS Gang was so fun and magical. We never wanted it to end.
"It's Your Life Charlie Brown" Show at Knott's Peanuts Celebration
Over at the Calico Mine Stage, you can see the PEANUTS characters perform LIVE. It's Your Life, Charlie Brown is a musical game show with Charlie Brown as the title character, getting the surprise of his life!
There will be music, fun and surprise guests, including the world's most famous beagle, Snoopy.
Then at night....
Snoopy's Legendary Rooftop Concert
The stage will transformed into a rock concert! Get ready for Snoopy's Legendary Rooftop Concert. The Peanuts Gang has teamed up with the beloved indie band, The Jelly of the Month Club. You will be dancing and singing to hit songs popular at Woodstock.
I highly recommend this amazing show!
Over in Campy Snoopy there are even more Instagrammable opportunities and fun photo ops!
The PEANUTS Child to Teacher Translator
Make sure to stop by the The PEANUTS Child to Teacher Translator in Camp Snoopy. Kids just love this thing! It translates anything you say into the PEANUTS teacher language, wah wah wah wah wah wah!
How to use the Child to Teacher Translator:
- Press and hold down the white button
- While you are holding the button, talk into the black circle microphone on the recorder
- Release the white button
- Listen to the translator as it translates what you said out of the megaphone!
and don't forget all the "Thought Bubble" photo ops in Camp Snoopy.
Peanuts Thought Bubble Photo Ops in Camp Snoopy
All over Camp Snoopy, you will find these fun thought bubbles. They are attached to poles, trees and other structures. They make you look like you are part of one of Charles Schultz's comic strips. My son was thrilled!!!!! Hahaha.
Food Offerings at Knott's Peanuts Celebration
Of course there will be plenty of Peanuts-inspired food items. This year's theme is It's the Great Mac and Cheese Charlie Brown, so they are offering lots of fun options that include Mac and Cheese! These are a couple examples I thought we kind of interesting...
Shroeder’s Fluffy Breakfast Mac and Cheese Pancake served with a side of Bacon and Maple Syrup
Cornbread Funnel Cake with Mac and Cheese and Pulled Pork, with a BBQ Sauce Drizzle
Plus there are lots more options...including entree's, snacks, and deserts (without Mac & Cheese).
If you want to try a bunch of the Mac and Cheese items, you can purchase a It's the Great Mac and Cheese Charlie Brown Tasting Card. For $45, you get to try 6 items on the tasting card of your choosing. Each tasting card come with a cute PEANUTS character straw.
