Hash Brown Station for Easter Brunch with Free Printables

This is a sponsored post.Hash Brown Brunch Idea with Free PrintablesEaster is just around the corner and it is time to start planning what to make for Easter brunch. one of my family’s favorite foods is hash browns, so i wanted to find a really good hash brown recipe for my brunch menu. but then i came up with an even better idea. it would be really fun to make a hash brown bar, where guests could add different toppings to their hash browns.  i decided to do a test run for my kids to try them out this week during their spring break, and it was a complete success.

since the Easter holiday is a really special day for us, i want to make the the hash brown bar really pretty. i love making printables as you know, so i made some pretty tent cards to label all the toppings. then it was time to do all the food shopping.

i picked up a more than a few bags of Ore-Ida Shredded Hash Brown Potatoes at Walmart. i really suggest stocking up now, because when holiday come around, they are hard to find. everyone buys them up because they are the best kind of hash browns in my opinion. for the hash brown toppings, i decided to buy; shredded cheese, bell peppers, bacon, tomatoes, sour cream, chives and ketchup. when i serve brunch on Easter, i am also going to add a platter of scrambled eggs, because those would be marvelous atop hash browns.
i put all the toppings into pretty serving dishes, and put the hash browns on a nice platter. i decorated the table to match the tents cards that i made earlier, and also made a 5 x 7″ sign to label the Hash Brown Station. flowers, a blue mason jar, Easter eggs, Easter grass and a colorful table mat made the set-up especially perfect for the Easter holiday. however, i even think this would be pretty for a baby shower or bridal shower brunch as well. ( i have included the printable at the bottom of this post)

WOW. i just love how it all turned out. and i really think my guests will love it too.

not only did the table set-up turn out amazing, the food did as well. YUM! hash browns make the perfect base for all those toppings. the perfect amount of crispy, tender, and savory with the freshness of the veggies. my kids and i had the best time filling up our plates and gobbling it down.

i can’t wait till Easter morning, where i will be creating this yummy hash brown bar again. i have a feeling it is going to be a big hit with everyone.

We Just Loved Knott’s Berry Bloom Event

on Saturday i took the kiddies to Knott’s Berry Bloom Event, it felt so good to be back at Knott’s. we just love it there…the old time feel, the rides, the food and scenery. and we were excited to see Knott’s all dressed-up for spring! freshly planted spring flowers line the park.

with our scavenger hunt cards in hand, we ran around the park collecting stamps in search of the Easter Beagle.

once our cards were complete, we received a special egg. giant eggs and flowers led the way. while in Camp Snoopy, the kids enjoyed the rides and we also saw “Lucy’s Really Big Show” a musical stage show for the kiddies.

it was fun to play giant dominos, checkers and connect four on the Boardwalk. the perfect time for mom to sit and relax while the kiddies continue to have more fun.

then some of the parents took a time out to enjoy Knott’s newest attraction the “Berry Bloom Topiary Tasting Garden.”

for only $15, you get 6 tasting pairs of wine and farm fresh food offerings. and for me, since i don’t drink, fresh made lemonades and boysenberry punches hit the spot.

while the younger kids and i watched the new Knott’s Party in the Park show which is performed in 360° around the main fountain, my oldest went on Ghost Rider rollercoaster for the first time. no…he didn’t like it 😉

i’m proud of him for trying a new ride every time we are at Knott’s. he is surely getting over his fear of rollercoasters.

we ended the evening with a stroll back at Camp Snoopy. a musical spring light show was the main attraction. i’m surprised the kids had any energy left in them. we had so much fun throughout the day, i was sure i had worn them out. i guess not…Knott’s Berry Farm is too much fun. we just loved Knott’s Berry Bloom.

{disclosure: my family was given tickets to Knott’s Spring Bloom event. all thoughts and opinions are mine. }

Pear Bunnies….made me happy today!

this has been a strange sorta week. i have been feeling down….even though i don’t know why, and i have been uninspired to blog lately. i guess everyone gets burned out now and then, but i am used to going, going, going. i had planned to do some fun things for earth day (didn’t happen), i had planned to do some Easter projects (didn’t happen). and then this morning, i pretty much decided that i should quit blogging (okay, i’m being a little dramatic), just because i usually am full of ideas….and lately….i haven’t been able to think of anything. and all those activities around the OC i like to post about? no time.
so……..i decided to give myself an attitude adjustment. i ironed some clothes to wear and even got dressed. i cleaned up the house. i took the kiddies to the park. and then i made a good dinner. not my usual pull the tortellini out of the freezer canned spaghetti sauce kind of dinners. but one that would make my hubbie happy. steak. cheesy potatoes. and bunny salad.
okay, the bunny salad was not to make the hubbie happy…..it was more for the kiddies. and i must say, it actually made my day. because they turned out sooo sooo cute. and the cute little bunnies put a smile on everyone at the dinner table. even the hubbie. and that is what i needed. life. is. good.
how to make a bunny salad
what you need:
pear halves
chocolate chips or raisins
lettuce leaf
place a lettuce leaf on a plate. slice a pear half into wedges for the ears. place two on the lettuce leaf. then place one whole pear half on top (a large can of pears made four bunnies). carefully sprinkle nutmeg where the bunny’s mouth will be. for the nose, place 1/4 of the cherry. add pretzels for the whiskers and chocolate chips or raisins for the eyes. and whala! bunny salad.
and i am not going to quit blogging  🙂
