Just wanted to mention East Lake Shores as one of the most beautiful holiday areas I've seen. 191 homes along the lake are decorated so that reflections off the water double the visual experience. (Yorba Linda Blvd to Village Center Drive to Vista Laguna). Walk around the lake - one mile. Walk or drive up and down each canal - two miles. View the lake from the Club House deck - magnificent. In addition, there is a boat parade the second Saturday and Sunday of each December. Sit along the banks and enjoy the parade. East Lake is lit from Thanksgiving till Jan 10. There's an awesome FREE event in Aliso Viejo.. Christmas Chalk Walk. They do it every year at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Aliso Creek road. Artists (professionals and amateurs) create amazing chalk masterpieces and it's fun to walk around. This year they are doing a Drive-Thru style with the art up on easels so you can see it from your car. http://www.christmaschalkwalk.com
