Soft an Chewy Caramel Apple Cookie Bars

Fall is here, so it's time to get your apple baking on. This Caramel Apple Cookie Bars recipe is the perfect dessert to make if you are wanting to enjoy the tastes of fall. Homemade caramel apple topping, sweet cream cheese spread over a sugar cookie slab will impress your family and any guests you are entertaining.

What you need to make Caramel Apple Cookie Bars

The great thing about this recipe is that it is super simple to make because you can use store bought ready-to-use sugar cookie dough (You can get this Pillsbury Sugar Cookie Dough here). So technically this recipe is semi-homemade. However, it will definitely taste homemade.

You will need apples, cream cheese, sugar cookie, powder sugar, vanilla, butter and caramel sauce.

How to make the cookie bars

Now let's make this Caramel Apple Cookie Bars recipe!

First, preheat your oven to 350º f.

Next, grease a medium sized rimmed cookie sheet. Slice your cookie dough and place it all over the cookie sheet.

Now, spread the cookie dough together filling in the gaps to cover the cookie sheet. This will create on big cookie that fills the entire sheet.

Bake cookie dough for 8-12 minutes until golden brown. Remove from the over and let the cookie crust cool completely.

Meanwhile in a medium skillet over medium heat add the apples and butter. Cook for 5-8 minutes until apples are slightly tender. Add the caramel to the pan and stir to combine.

Meanwhile in a medium bowl using a hand mixer whip together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla.

Spread the cookie crust evenly with the cream cheese mixture.
