and just like that, the Halloween season has arrived in Orange County!  fun Halloween events events are popping up all around Southern California, so i have compiled a list of over 60 Orange County Halloween events…most of which are kid-friendly, and/or family-friendly. and all of which are scheduled around the OC and SoCal this Halloween season.

it’s time to get your calendar out and pick out the ones that look like the most fun for you and the kiddies. it’s always fun to make the Halloween season one your family will always remember! (be sure to check back here, as more events will be added to the list as they are announced.)

Camp Spooky at Knott’s Berry Farm

this daytime, non-scare event is a celebration of cheer rather than fear! you can enjoy shows, activities and of course, trick or treating. kids can take part in the “Monster Dance Party and Costume Parade,” sing and dance along with the Peanuts gang at the “Peanuts Halloween Spooktacular,” and walk through the “Haunted Harvest” cornfield maze.

Boo at the Zoo

Pretend City’s Bug Appetit

It is Halloween time, but not everything has to be scary. Pretend City brings Halloween cheer to this holiday! Make your way around our city to encounter an array of silly, and not-so-spooky characters. Find skit-skattling skeletons in the Doctor’s office, friendly ghosts in the “haunted” Home, crawly eats and treats in the Bug Appétit Café, and pleasant pumpkins in our farm. Your little ghouls and goblins will be howling with so much excitement. The only thing they’ll be afraid of is running out of play time in this fun Halloween City!

Pretend City’s Halloween Party

Tanaka Farms U-Pick Pumpkin Patch Tours

take a wagon ride around the farm, wander through the corn maze, pick your own vegetables, visit our petting zoo, take pictures by “Tanaka’s Pile of Pumpkins” & finally pick your own pumpkin right off the vine. on the weekends there is a Fall Harvest Festival with food, games, atv rides and more!

Aliso Viejo Fall Harvest Festival

Pumpkin Glow
October 25th • 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.  |  Pavillion Park, Irvine
Pumpkin Glow is a new legacy event for GPN residents, their families and friends to enjoy. it will feature more than 2,000 carved and sculpted pumpkins, creating an amazing, illuminated outdoor pumpkin artwork display. Adding to the excitement of the night will be the Pumpkin Glow Sculpture Competition, featuring pumpkin-related art from local schools and organizations. Pumpkin Glow attendees will vote for the top three entries and prizes will be awarded. Also, expert pumpkin sculptor Scott Gerber will entertain visitors with live carving demonstrations. Local schools have been invited to contribute to the Pumpkin Glow’s attempt to break a Guinness World Record for the longest line of carved pumpkins, which currently stands at 1,301 FREE

Teen Ghost Hunters Night

Teens will break into groups and attempt to record “para-normal” activity while exploring areas of the park. Everyone will meet back in the viewing room and share their findings while enjoying pizza! $5

Kidgits Halloween Spooktacular

The Shops at Mission Viejo will host its Kidgits Halloween Spooktacular near the Play Area. Kids will have a chance to dress up in costume, decorate cookies and do seasonal crafts.

Boot Hill in Irvine

An elaborate yard display in Irvine, BOOT HILL rises from the fog for it’s 14th year to inhabit the residence at 16 Goldenrod. The residence at 16 Goldenrod has been turned into the old church and cemetary that once occupied the land. Come if you dare! Please beware the ghost of Jedediah Smith, who has been known to roam through the decaying grounds of Boot Hill. FREE (Donations are accepted with proceeds going to CHOC, Children’s Hospital of Orange County.)

Fullerton Haunted Walking Tours
Wednesdays & Thursdays, September 17th – November 6th  |  6:00 p.m.  |  City of Fullerton Museum
The tours leave the museum promptly at 6 p.m., and last approximately two and one-half hours. Aul said “ghost hunters” should be prepared to walk approximately 1.5 miles, and the tours will include climbing stairs. Participants should wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a sense of humor with them.

Legoland Brick-or-Treat Party Nights

Trick-or-Treat through the park trails, build a giant Lego vampire, party with the Boo Crew, spectacular fireworks and enjoy the entire Legoland Park.

Cal Poly Pumpkin Festival

the 22nd Annual Pumpkin Festival is where you can choose from thousands of pumpkins right out of the patch ($5 ea). eat and play games at the College of Agriculture student club booths or head over to our popular Insect Fair featuring nearly 500,000 live and preserved insects (runs from 9am-5pm). We also have a corn maze, petting zoo, horse rides, entertainment, and lots of activities for kids! enjoy a pancake breakfast Saturday morning only from 8am-11am. on Sunday, an earthquake simulator as well as FDNY Resue 5, a rolling memorial of the victims of 9/11, will be on display.

Family Halloween Sleepover at the Aquarium
