the holiday season is complete without seeing a magical performance of The Nutcracker. this holiday season, audiences will once again be transported to the enchanting land of the Palace of Sweets Theatre as the Maple Ballet returns with its original rendition of The Nutcracker to Irvine’s Northwood Performing Arts Theatre.

with sold-out performances since its debut in 2008, the Maple Ballet’s The Nutcracker features more than 80 classically trained dancers, opulent handmade costumes and masterfully created original stage sets. glowing special effects include a life-size gingerbread house, a swarovski crystal curtain and eight-foot teapot. set against 50’ hand painted backdrops and a spectacular 55’ growing Christmas tree, The Nutcracker showcases dancing snowflakes, whimsical fairies, and an array of spirited characters such as the sinister Rat King. performances are set to Tchaikovsky’s original score include the “Waltz of the Flowers,” “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy,” and the “Mother Ginger Dance.”
