summer is just about here, and school is out in less than three weeks…can you believe it! i know it is sometimes hard to find things to entertain the kids with the entire summer, so if you can't find something to do on my list of 101 things to do in Orange County, then check out these sweet Orange County summer camps. this round up are camps i have found to be fun and entertaining for kids, and also educational.
Funtopia Kid's Summer Camp
i've written about how much fun we had at Funtopia, that is why this is my number one pick for summer camps. Funtopia will be having 8 different weeks of camps for kids this summer – every week has a different theme and will be having days full of awesome things to do. this camp will be great for the kids to learn some more serious rock climbing (ie how to tie knots, how to belay, etc) as well as incorporate funtopia elements on one of the days. they will be offering full and half day options.

Pirate Coast Paddle Kid's Camp
Kid’s Pirate Paddle Camp is a 5 day camp full of paddle boarding fun! Campers learn the basics of stand up paddle boarding, and have a blast doing it. every day is focused on teaching a new skill and has a new water activity. instructors will teach balance, control, steering and paddle etiquette, marine and water education, and water safety. the campers will get to participate in paddle races, beach challenges, water games, relays, swimming, treasure hunts, and much much more. Students will also be taught new skills and moves/tricks each day. daily agenda will be subject to daily weather and ocean conditions, and at the end of the camp, kids will be an equipped paddler with the skills and confidence needed to continue paddling all summer long. O.A.K.S. Day Camp
this nature camp is a favorite of ours, as we have been many times. if your kids love to explore and discover nature, then this summer camp is perfect. located at Oak Canyon Nature Center in Anahiem Hills, each of the fun and challenging camp sessions will develop their outdoor awareness, knowledge, and skills. not long ago, existence depended on the ability to live harmoniously with the plant and animal resources in the local environment. Hanta Yo! at O.A.K.S. Summer Day Camp, participants are introduced to Native American lifestyles through various program components. each session will focus on a special nature topic and will include trail walks, art, nature, games, and Native American traditions. (this one is priced at a bargain)

HB Surf School Kid's Summer Camp
HB Surf School is designed for beginners and up, the camp will help kids improve their board riding ability, master a variety of basic and more advanced maneuvers and understand the ocean better. for those who desire to compete; competitive analysis and techniques will also be covered. surfers must be 8 or older and be comfortable in the ocean. the summer camp meets at Beach Service Center, south-side of the pier.
HB Surf Camp’s professional instructor is Bill Sharp, former competitive surfer and coach of the South African National surf Team. Equipment is available, but it is recommended that surfers practice on their own boards. Bring a towel, hat, sweatshirt, sunscreen, water and snacks. Sponsor gift packs provided and Del Taco lunch served on Friday.
