Cherry Limeade Slushie Recipe

By Jill Parkin • Published: Aug 6, 2014 · Updated: Feb 3, 2021

i would say my all-time favorite drink is a Cherry Limeade...my boys and hubby LOVE Cherry Limeades too. but it seems that we don't get to drink them very often....we only get them at restaurants. but i have been craving them bad during this hot and humid weather we've been having. so, i thought that it was time for me to learn to make them myself.

wow...who knew they were so easy to make. i even made them slushy style, which was wonderful. this is a quick and easy drink recipe goes well with any type of summer barbecue dish, and is especially refreshing on a hot summer day. they are a crowd pleaser for all ages....and i highly suggest you make them when company comes over for dinner.

to make a Cherry Limeade Slushie, all you need is lime juice, Sweet'N Low, ice and water, blend it in the blender, then add grenadine.  i love, love, love maraschino cherries, and the lime is the perfect compliment to them to cut down the sweetness.  it can be adjusted if you want your drink sweeter, more limey or more cherry.

using the Sweet 'N Low cuts down on the extra calories of added sugar....plus, in this drink, you can't tell the difference. after you blend the lime juice, Sweet N' Low and ice in a blender, you can pour into a glass and pour the grenadine over the drink. if you'd like, garnish with cherries and limes.

this is a great refreshing drink that is not to sweet, because it enhances the flavor and makes it more refreshing. also, add ice to it when you serve it. it makes the perfect treat for a hot summer day, or compliments a summer picnic. happy summer!
