Get in Free to SEA LIFE Aquarium at Legoland

One of our favorite things to do at Legoland is go to SEA LIFE Aquarium. Halfway through the day at Legoland we usually need a bit of a break, so we head over to the aquarium. There is something serene and magical about the swimming fish a glow of the blue water at an aquarium. We find that it is the perfect cool down spot to recharge during an adventurous day at Legoland.

We love that you will find lots of amazing species of sea life…like these giant crabs. They are super ginormous.

and nestled amongst the waters and fishes are LEGO creations. very cool.

my children are always in awe.

sea-life-legolandIt takes about an hour to go through the aquarium and enjoy all the exhibits it has to offer. There is also a restaurant inside if you want to get a bite to eat.

SEA LIFE Aquarium is a separate admission price than Legoland. But, if you buy a Legoland Hopper Pass, or just purchase a ticket to only go into the Aquarium. BUT here is your chance to go into for free.

SEA LIFE Aquarium is holding a beach clean-up on June 8th in honor of World’s Ocean Day. each person who participates will receive a ticket to the Aquarium. i think this is the perfect way to teach children to take care of their environment and also to enjoy a day of family fun. (Event has passed. But all other information on this post is still current!)

{disclosure: this is not a sponsored post. we just love SEA LIFE Aquarium.}

The Elephants are Coming!

disclaimer: i apologize in advance if any of this information is wrong…..i will update as information becomes available.

if my prediction is correct, the Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus elephants are arriving on the circus train tomorrow, wednesday, july 25, 2012! this is called the “Elephant Walk.” and since the circus begins in the OC on friday, they gotta bring all the circus animals and equipment by train to the Honda Center. well….the elephants have to get from the train to the Honda Center somehow, so they walk them down the street from the train drop-off to the Honda Center. people can sit along the curbs and watch!

the reason i haven’t posted it until now, is because it is hard to find information about this event. plus Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus doesn’t publicly announce when the train will arrive, especially because traveling with animals can be unpredictable. and because a lot of times PETA does protesting when the circus comes to town. (which is sad because a lot of these elephants have been rescued from circus’ around world that were abusing them.)

however, if the schedule is as years past, then the “Elephant Walk” is tomorrow! and the elephants walk down Cerritos Street and Douglas Street to the Honda Center. i know that the train can arrive as early as 11:30…but you know what happened a few years ago year. there are parking lots near by, so if you want to try and go, bring some treats and a book to past the time.

i will post any updates i learn on facebook, so check there tomorrow.
here are directions. and here is a link to last years elephant walk.

Mickey’s Halloween Party

if you are looking for a magical Halloween experience, Mickey’s Halloween Party is the place to be.  the kiddies and i (and the hubby too) got to experience Mickey’s Halloween Party last friday. we got to experience Halloween, Disney style……what a treat!

Mickey’s Halloween Party invites adults and children to dress up in costumes and trick-or-treat all over Disneyland Resort. you are also able to come to the park 3 hours prior to the party and enjoy everything the Resort has to offer.  once Mickey’s Halloween Party begins, get ready for a night of Halloween Magic.

per the boys request, we began out by trick-or-treating. you get lots of candy….and they even have healthy treats! here’s my big boy with my baby Yoda eating a non-healthy treat. what kind of parents give their baby candy ; )

we were able to sneak a peak of “Mickey’s Costume Party” cavalcade, which is performed twice nightly, and stopped by a few of the newly themed dance parties. we got to dance with some of our favorite Disney characters at the new “Piratepalooza” at Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante and the popular “Buzz Lightyear’s Intergalactic Space Jam.”

there were new character photo locations: you can meet Stormtroopers in Tomorrowland, Phineas & Ferb in Plaza Gardens & Duffy the Bear in his pumpkin costume. there are also additional photo locations featuring princesses, Disney villains and more Disney and Pixar pals.

of course my boys had to get their picture with the Stormtroopers….cheese!

our absolute favorite was the Halloween Screams Firework Spectacular. like no other. it is hosted by “Master of Scare-omonies” Jack Skellington, and is presented exclusively for guests of Mickey’s Halloween Party!

we had to go on the Halloween Christmas ride as my kiddies call it. but most people know it as the Haunted Mansion. all decked out as the Nightmare Before Christmas.

i tried to get the kiddies pictures by the big Mickey Pumpkin. no luck. they were busy having fun.

i can’t believe that we stayed until closing….12:00 am. but it was just too much fun to leave. hmmmm…what kind of parents let their kiddies stay up till midnight!
