Halloween Tunes Your Family will Love to Play

The Best Halloween Songs for Families

it’s official October…so it’s time to get into the Halloween spirit!  for us, this month is all about fun with pumpkins, candy corns, costumes, fall crafts and treats. we like to download our favorite Halloween tunes to listen in the car or around the house while we are doing our jobs. it makes the whole family get into the fall spirit.

i decided to put together a playlist for anyone who would like to check out some of our family’s favorite Halloween music. they are all Halloween tunes your family will love. the links to itunes are included below…as well as the entire playlist at the bottom of the list if you would like to preview the songs on this post. so here you go!

kid-halloween-songs

1) Hedwig’s Theme from the Harry Potter soundtrack.  i enjoy the magical, mystical sounds of this song…and since we are Harry Potter fans over here, i had to include this in the mix.

2) This is Halloween by  The Citizens of Halloween (The Nightmare Before Christmas Original Soundtrack) this is my FAVORITE Halloween song of the season. i constantly have it in my head during the month of October. the music is great as is all music from Tim Burton’s films.

3) Thriller by Michael Jackson. how can you not include this iconic song in a Halloween mix. love the sound, love the song, love the artist and the video too!

4) Beetlejuice by Danny Elfman. another one of  those favorite songs from the films of Tim Burton. such a great movie…and i love the music from it. this one in particular.

5) The Monster Mash  by Bobby “Boris” Prickett & The Crypt-Kickers (The original Monster Mash) everyone remembers hearing this song at a Halloween party or festival. i especially love the original version…it brings back the vibe of retro nostalgia.

6) Grim, Grinning Ghosts by Ghosts (Mickey’s Monster Bash Soundtrack) the official song of The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland. just hearing this song gets me in the mood for Halloween.

7) The Addams Family Groove by The Dark. this dance version of the Addams Family theme song was introduced in the motion picture remake of the 1990’s. so fun.

8) The Purple People Eater by Sheb Wooley. i don’t know why this song reminds me of Halloween, or why it is often played at Halloween parties, but i like it a lot. i sang it as a kid, and i am sure my kids will get a kick out of it.

9) Dead Man’s Party by Oingo Boingo. if you’re an 80’s child or fan of the 80’s you probably love this song. it’s one of my hubby’s favorites.

10) The Munster’s Theme by  Surf Dawgs. can’t forget about the theme song of this monster sitcom. of course my favorite was  Ricky Munster.  sad they don’t show reruns of The Munsters anymore.

11) Vampire by Antsy  Pants (Music from the motion picture Juno) you may or may not have seen the movie Juno, but this cute little song about Vampires is short and sweet…and kinda catchy.

12) Ghostbusters  by Ray Parker, Jr. (from the original Ghostbusters soundtrack) just happens to be one of my all-time favorite movies and hearing this song brings back memories of watching it on the family VCR.

hope you enjoy these Halloween tunes!!!!
